Baking - take two!

After the first attempt in baking sweet dough bun with my fellow friends, I'm readied to go solo.

Ingredients:

(A)
480g Bread Flour
120g Plain Flour
110g Sugar
10g Salt
20g Milk Powder
4 tsps Instant Yeast

(B)
1 Egg
300ml Cold Water

(C)
60g Butter

Methods:
  1. Mix (A) till well blended.
  2. Add (B) and knead to form a dough.
  3. Add (C) continue to knead to form a smooth and elastic dough.
  4. Cover dough with clear film, or moist paper towel. Let it prove for 50-60 minutes, or till it doubles its size.
  5. Use finger to press into the dough. It should show a clear finger tip mark but the dough should not sink. Now the dough is ready to be used for making bun.
The dough, before and after proving.

6. Have fun with your dough. Make all sorts of shapes, and have fun with all kinds of filling as well. After rolling out the dough and shape them accordingly, another hour of proving is necessary.
7 . Lightly brush a layer of egg yolk on top of the bun at the end of proving.
8. Bake at 210C for 10-15 minutes, or until bread turn golden brown.

I think I've fallen in love with baking lately. =)

boo, ha! you can easily get buns like these from any of the leading bakery stores ... but I can assure you, you'll feel great if you make it yourself! no joke! to see your dough prove and rise double the original size, and the fresh bread aroma coming out from the oven, Priceless! =)
